Obituary of Ernest Ventrella

Ernest (Ernie) Ventrella 83 of Wayne NJ, born in Paterson, NJ, peacefully passed on February 29, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Ernie was most known for his “larger than life” personality and his great stories. Ernie was always considered approachable and willing to help anyone in his personal and professional life. He was well-respected, an inspiration, and will be missed by many. Ernie was a member of the Paterson Police Department, retiring after 39 years of service at the rank of Deputy Chief. Proud member of the Paterson Police PBA, Superior Officers Association, Police Chief Association, and the Fidelians of America. Devoted husband of Judith (nee DeFrabrizio) Ventrella and the late Evelyn Rita (nee Girgenti) Ventrella, and proud father of Steve Ventrella, Donna Girlando and husband Phil, Diane Giglio and husband Rich, Ernest Ventrella Jr. and wife Tracey, Mike Ventrella, step-father of Diane Stabile and husband Larry, Joseph Pacella, and Christopher Pacella and wife Adelia. Also survived by grandchildren Gina and Elisa Girlando, Antonio, Santino, Fabiano, and the late Marcello Ventrella, Ernest III and Alana Ventrella, Rich and Christina Giglio, Emily and Matthew Stabile, and Christopher, Luke, and Giuliana Pacella, and great-grandchildren Mia and Michael Bahlman-Girlando and Evelina Girlando.
