Obituary of Gemma Tomino

Gemma Tomino, age 92, of Haledon died Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at Brookdale at Manahawkin in Manahawkin, NJ. Gemma was born September 19, 1923 in Casalbordino, province of Chieti, Abbruzzo, Italy. She is the daughter of the late Alesandro and the late Antoinette (Moretti) Benedetti. She came to the United States in 1955 and settled in Haledon. She was loved and respected by her family and friends. She retired from Faber Brothers, Haledon, NJ in 1988 where she worked as a Shirt Presser for 18 years. She was a parishioner of St. Gerard's R.C. Church in Paterson, NJ. She is survived by her two daughters: Lina Post of Forked River, NJ and Clarice Custer of Ellicott City, MD. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Vittorio Tomino. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12:30 pm on Friday, October 9 at St. Gerard's R.C. Church, West Broadway, Paterson, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ. Visiting hours will be Friday, October 9 from 10am - 12 noon at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ.
